Objectives of the PTA:
*To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship.
*To raise the standards of home life.
*To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
*To bring into close relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
*To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantage in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.
Mission of the Maryland PTA:
*To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before government bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
*To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and
*To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

Who: All FQMS parents, guardians, grandparents, staff members, and friends.
What: PTA memberships are renewed annually. It provides you with a voice and vote for future programs and activities at FQMS. It also helps fund these programs and activities for FQMS students.
When: Forms will be distributed at the start of the school year.
Why: PTA members help bring an ENTIRE year of programs to our school to enrich the lives and educational experiences of our children with programs and activities such as 6th grade Outdoor Education, TeacherWeb, Cultural Arts, Reflections Program, Honor Roll Ice Cream, Gold Breakfast, Book Fair, RESPECT Program, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Community Outreach, Falcon Days, After School Intramural Activities, Spiritwear, School Store, 8th Grade Closing Ceremonies and activities, March Madness 8th Grade Volleyball, Staff Appreciation and many more! Aside from our annual fundraiser, the Magazine Drive, your PTA dues help pay for these programs.
