Student Directories- ALL information for our student directories will be generated by the district this year. Parents are able to select the information provided for our directory when updating their Family File. Deadline to be in our directory is October 15. Parent Involvement Opportunities- The Community Outreach committee is looking for parent volunteers. The Community Outreach team needs volunteers occasionally throughout the year but especially in the spring. Our on line form has been updated to add this need. If this interests you, then you can either return to the Sign Up Genius form and select this to be added to your form (We will be notified that you made a change to your form.) OR Send a note to school ATTN: PTA Volunteer Coordinator OR email fqmspta.president@gmail.com. Parent Involvement Opportunity sign up is still available!!! Visit our click on the Volunteer tab to access on line form or to print a form to return to school. 5 more adults needed to help during flu vaccine administration. Students must sit for 10 minutes after receiving the vaccine so adults are needed to be with them during this time. Vaccines will be administered on Nov. 4. Tickets on Sale Now - First-Ever Night of Comedy to support Ducketts Lane Elementary (DLES) School PTA! Parenting is hard, but joyous work and we’re all learning the ropes together. And kids say the darndest things! Sometimes all you can do is laugh. That’s why you won’t want to miss our first-ever Night of Comedy Show -- hosted by our very own DLES Dad and DC Impov Comic, Chris Lawrence, on Thursday, October 13 at Atholton High School. Doors Open at 6:45pm. Come laugh out loud with some of the area’s funniest comedians as seen on Tru TV, Magooby’s Joke House and the Comic Strip. Tickets are $10 in advance or 2 for $18. Funds raised support the DLES PTA. Get tickets before they’re sold out. This is an adult-only, PG-13 show, so line up your babysitter early and enjoy a night out. For tickets, visit www.dlespta.weebly.com/fundraisers ) This October, the River Hill High School Theatre Arts Department will proudly present The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged). This play is a hilarious, fast-paced romp through the Bard’s extensive canon. This silly and wacky play is co-directed by RHHS Theatre Arts teacher Pam Land and RHHS Theatre Arts Alum Jamie Driskill (’04). Joe Blasko, a longtime friend of RHHS Theatre Arts, will direct the construction of the set with assistance from RHHS alumni parents George Stone and Bob Bost. A crew of more than 30 dedicated students led by student stage managers R.J. O’Brien and Autumn Mack will build the set and props and run the show. RHHS math teacher Rhonda De La Mar will design costumes with the assistance of a wonderful team of parent volunteers. The talented, dynamic and funny ensemble cast of 20 RHHS students includes Michael Dial, Nina Esposito-Faraone, Tolu Faderin, Krisana Goel, Danielle Gover, Henry Grinnell, Thaddeus Harold, Ben Kamins, Kevin Key, Allie Margolis, Jay Martin, Emily O’Keefe, Megan Radcliffe, Nikoo Sarraf, Craig Selbrede, Ashleigh Steinberg, Amanda Tossman, Josh Tow, Ryan True, and Jessie Wu.
